On the 2nd gen Tacoma this is one of the few jobs that needs no tools at all. Both arms use the old-school J-hook end, so almost any aftermarket blade with a hook adapter fits. Driver side is 20 inches, passenger side is 18 inches, and that is true across all cab styles, trims and both engines from 2005 through 2015.
The mistake people make is buying two of the same size, usually two 20s, and ending up with a passenger blade that overhangs the trim or hits the A-pillar. The second mistake is not tugging the new blade after it clicks on; if the latch is not fully seated it will fly off the first time you use it in rain and the bare metal hook will carve a line across the glass.

How the job goes
Turn the ignition on, run the wipers, then switch them off so they park normally; turn the key off. If you want them upright in service position, on many 2nd gen trucks you can turn the key off mid-sweep to stop the arms partway up the glass.
Lift the wiper arm away from the windshield until it locks in the raised position. Lay a folded towel on the glass under each arm in case the arm snaps back.
Rotate the blade roughly 90 degrees to the arm so the hook and adapter are exposed.
Press the release tab on the underside of the blade adapter and slide the blade down and off the J-hook. Use the small screwdriver on the tab if it is stiff.
Compare the old blade to the new one: 20 in for the driver side, 18 in for the passenger side. Fit the correct hook adapter to the new blade if the blade came with multiple adapters.
Slide the new blade onto the hook until the latch clicks. Tug the blade firmly to confirm it is locked; a blade that pops off at speed will scratch the glass.
Rotate the blade back in line with the arm and lower it gently onto the glass. Repeat on the other side.
Clean the windshield and wipe the new rubber edges with alcohol. Run the wipers with washer fluid to check for chatter, streaks, or an arm that overlaps the A-pillar trim.
Watch out
Never let a bare wiper arm snap onto the glass; a spring-loaded arm can crack a windshield. Keep a towel in place until the new blade is installed.
Do not force the arm past its normal lift stop; the pivot bushings on these trucks can bind and the arm can bend.
If the blades are frozen to the glass in winter, thaw them first. Ripping them off tears the rubber and can strip the wiper motor linkage.
If you remove a wiper arm, mark the park position on the glass with tape first; the splines let you reinstall it in the wrong spot and the arm will hit the cowl or the A-pillar.
Blade sizes of 20 in driver and 18 in passenger and the J-hook arm style are correct for all 2005-2015 Tacoma cabs and trims; measure your old blades if yours have been replaced with the wrong size before.
