These terms cover your use of WhatWrench (whatwrench.com and app.whatwrench.com). By creating an account or using the service, you agree to them.

What WhatWrench does

You describe a vehicle and a repair or maintenance job. WhatWrench uses AI to list the tools, sizes, parts, torque specifications and steps for that job, and can look up nearby stores that may carry the tools.

AI-generated information: check before you rely on it

Tool lists, sizes, torque values and steps are generated by AI from general knowledge. They can be incomplete or wrong for your exact vehicle, trim or model year. Always confirm torque specifications and safety-critical steps (brakes, steering, suspension, fuel, airbags, lifting the vehicle) against the manufacturer's service manual, and use proper safety equipment. If you're not sure you can do a job safely, have a qualified mechanic do it.

Store availability is a best guess from public information. Call the store to confirm stock before you drive there.

Accounts

You need an account to generate tool lists. Keep your password private; you're responsible for activity on your account. One person per account.

Credits and payments

Credits are sold in packs at the prices shown on the site, in US dollars, and are processed by Stripe.
Credits don't expire, can't be transferred or exchanged for cash, and are only usable on WhatWrench.
Refunds follow our refund policy.
If we ever change prices, it won't affect credits you already bought.

Acceptable use

Don't misuse the service: no automated scraping or bulk requests, no attempts to break or overload it, no reselling access, and no using it to plan anything unlawful or unsafe. We may suspend accounts that do, and refund any unused credits.

No warranty

WhatWrench is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind, including accuracy of the information or fitness for a particular purpose.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, WhatWrench is not liable for any damage to vehicles, property or people, or for any indirect or consequential losses, arising from use of the service or reliance on its information. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

Changes

We may update these terms; the date at the top will change. If a change is significant, we'll note it on the site. Continuing to use WhatWrench after a change means you accept the new terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Tennessee, USA.
