On the 13th-gen F-150 this is about as easy as truck maintenance gets. Both wipers take a 22-inch blade and both arms use the old-school J-hook end, so there are no adapters, no Torx screws and no cowl removal. Press the tab on the blade connector, slide it off the hook, click the new one on.
Nothing changes between the 3.3 V6, 5.0 V8 and the 2.7 or 3.5 EcoBoost - the windshield and wiper hardware are identical across engines and cab styles. The one thing people get wrong is letting the spring-loaded arm slam down on the glass while wrestling with a stiff clip; that is a chipped or cracked windshield, and it costs far more than the blades. Lay a towel on the glass and support the arm.

How the job goes
Park with the wipers in their normal rest position and turn the ignition off so the wipers cannot cycle. If the truck has auto rain-sensing wipers, make sure the stalk is not in AUTO before turning the key on again.
Optional but easier: turn the key to ON, switch the wipers on, then shut the ignition off mid-sweep to leave the arms up higher on the glass and clear of the cowl.
Lift one wiper arm away from the windshield until it locks in the upright position. Lay a folded microfiber towel on the glass under it as insurance.
Turn the blade so the hook joint is visible. Press the release tab on the underside of the blade's plastic connector where it wraps the J-hook.
With the tab held in, slide the blade down the arm toward the hook's opening and unhook it. Do not twist or pry the arm itself.
Compare old and new blades - both sides should be 22 in. Fit the new blade's connector onto the J-hook, then pull it up along the arm until the tab clicks and locks.
Tug firmly on the blade to confirm it is captured on the hook and cannot slide off.
Wipe the new rubber edge with an alcohol wipe, then lower the arm gently onto the glass. Never let it snap down - it will chip the windshield.
Repeat on the other side. Note the passenger blade parks lower and may need to be lifted slightly clear of the cowl trim.
Clean the whole windshield with glass cleaner, then top off washer fluid and run the wipers on low, medium and high to check for chatter, skipping, or contact with the cowl or A-pillar.
Watch out
A spring-loaded wiper arm snapping onto bare glass is the most common way to crack a windshield during this job - keep a towel under it at all times.
Do not use the wiper arm as a lever or handle to pull the blade off; bending the arm changes blade pressure and causes streaking.
On trucks with rain-sensing wipers, keep the stalk out of AUTO while working - a wet sensor can start the motor with your hands on the arms.
In hard freeze conditions, free the blades from ice first; forcing a frozen blade tears the rubber and can strip the wiper motor gear or blow the fuse.
Cheap blades with universal multi-adapters often fit poorly on the F-150 J-hook; choose a hook-specific blade or install the adapter fully until it clicks.
Blade size of 22 in per side and the J-hook arm style are correct for all 2015-2020 F-150 cab and trim configurations; double-check your existing blade length with a tape measure before buying since a previous owner may have installed odd sizes.
