The XA40 RAV4 is one of the easier cabin filters out there. There are no screws: you unhook the glovebox damper arm, squeeze the box sides past their stops, let it hang, and the filter tray pulls straight out of the HVAC case. Ten minutes start to finish, and a shop will charge $45-90 for the same work.
Everything in this generation - LE, XLE, Limited, SE, and the 2016+ Hybrid - uses the same filter and the same access. The one thing people get wrong is orientation: on Toyota the AIR FLOW arrow points DOWN, not up as on many other brands. Install it upside down and the filter clogs early and the blower can whistle at high speed.
